The Solana-based NFT marketplace, Tensor, which has already facilitated over $2 billion worth of Solana NFTs, is preparing to launch its governance token called TNSR. This announcement comes after Tensor’s protocols accounted for more than 70% of Solana’s NFT trading volume in the last 90 days, making it a significant player in the Solana ecosystem.
However, details about the TNSR token launch are still scarce, as Tensor Foundation did not provide any specific information. They simply stated that “TNSR will govern Tensor protocols that have already traded over $2bn worth of NFTs on the fastest, most scalable blockchain – Solana.”
According to the organization, the current NFT market is still considered a niche community on the fringes of the web. But they predict that this asset class will soon transition from serving thousands to billions of traders, powering products, businesses, and entire industries in the coming months.

In December 2023, SOL NFT projects, specifically Mad Lads and Tensorians, experienced significant price increases. The collective trading volume of Solana’s non-fungible tokens exceeded that of Ethereum, showcasing a remarkable growth rate of 92%.
Furthermore, between January 18 and January 25 of this year, NFT sales on the Solana blockchain surpassed $62 million, representing a staggering 17% increase compared to Bitcoin’s volume.
